Meet Ms. Misty 

Hello! I am the artist and instructor behind Lil' Bird Art Studio. I have loved art since I was a little girl. From designing and drawing dresses with my grandmother, constantly doodling, coloring, creating from my imagination, to designing houses and floorpans with my dad... creating seemed to be at the center of my existence. Then as a teen, I was introduced to painting and fell in love with it!  Creating as a child ignited a passion and a confidence that I can create and express myself through art.  Art has always been such an intrical part of who I am. When I create, I feel contentment. It is what I am called to do.  

I absolutely LOVE sharing the joy of art with children. There is nothing more amazing and wonderful than to see kids create. As I teach and share art with children, it brings me back to that space of wonder and excitement of my early years that using your imagination and hands can create. I love seeing the kids eyes light up with excitement as they discover mixing colors, or accomplish something they didn't know how to do before. Their confidence grows and it is fun seeing them smile proudly as they show off art they have work hard at creating. Seeing their minds work and their imagination in action brings me joy... and who couldn't use a little more joy in their life?  

I am currently a landscape painter, as well as a children's art instructor from my home. I have taught classes and summer camps on and off through the years, but started teaching weekly in 2023.  I have four amazing children, who are mostly grown. My husband is my biggest supporter and I am his biggest fan! Family and art are my world!
